0Orange Italian Soda
Happy New Year’s Eve! You could make this in any flavor you like, I just had oranges on hand so I used them. If you decide to change it up, comment below with suggestions!
Ingredients:
For the orange syrup:
- 1 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup water
- 1/2 cup fresh squeezed orange juice
- 2 tablespoon orange zest
- Food coloring (optional)
For the italian soda:
- 1/2 cup sparkling water
- 2-3 tablespoons orange syrup
- 1 tablespoon half and half
- ice
Method:
For the syrup:
- Place all ingredients in a small pot over medium heat.
- Once the syrup reaches a boil, take it off the heat.
- Cool to room temperature, and strain out the orange zest.
- If you would like a brighter color, add food coloring.
For the italian soda:
- Fill a glass up about half way with ice.
- Pour in 2-3 tablespoons of the orange syrup.
- Top with sparkling water, stirring slightly.
- Slowly pour in 1 tablespoon of half and half.
