Lavender Lemonade

Lavender Lemonade (University Foodie)

A few weeks ago, I was at a coffee shop and I overheard someone order a lavender lemonade.  I kept thinking about it, and wondered if I could attempt to make it myself.  I have had some dried lavender sitting in my pantry for a while now, and so I decided this would be the perfect way to finally try it out in a recipe.  The lavender syrup turned the lemonade a pretty pink color and it added a nice floral note to the lemonade without being too overpowering.  Since the lemonade is a little bit on the fancy side, I wanted to serve it in something other than a standard pitcher.  I decided on serving the lemonade in a recycled glass bottle, which added a nice sophisticated touch.  If you’re interested in other eco-friendly and upcycled goods, check out the EcoMonster Etsy shop.  Don’t forget to use the code “universityfoodie” at checkout to receive free shipping until 6/30/13!

  1. Saw your recipe on tastespotting and was immediately fascinated by the fact that you used lavender (which I love the smell of) and I loved the stunning pink of the drink. Looks great and lovely photo as well. Best Torie

Thanks for stopping by! I love the color as well…I was so surprised it ended up being so pretty because the lavender syrup was a purple/brown color.
