2Espresso Soda
Yesterday I was sitting on my couch watching TV, trying to think of a quick Fourth of July recipe that I could post. I came up with this instead! Ha – figures. Somehow, I always seem to magically and unintentionally skip over holiday recipes. I’m sorry and I promise that I will eventually get better at this. Anyways, back to the espresso soda…I was watching a Bobby Flay show on TV and he said he was going to make some espresso soda later on in the episode. I was really intrigued and decided to make my own. So, I ran to the kitchen and had this one made and photographed before he even got to that part of the episode. His recipe was quite different, haha!
I love coffee. I love black coffee. I drink plain espresso. I just like how all of that tastes. There’s something about coffee on it’s own, without milk and sugar, that really allows you to taste the quality. I liked this soda because it allowed me to do something different, but still allowed for that pure espresso flavor. If you’re an avid coffee drinker, then I strongly encourage you to try this recipe out.

Ingredients
- 1 cup espresso beans, coarsely ground
- 2 cups hot water
- 4-6 cups sparking water
- ice cubes
Instructions
- Combine the hot water with the espresso beans, letting it sit for about 10 minutes.
- Using a stainer with a coffee filter inside, slowly strain out the espresso beans.
- Pour into glasses with ice, and top with enough sparkling water for your preference.
Notes
Remember, it's pronounced espresso and not expresso! :)
I’ve never thought of doing a coffee soda. I’m intrigued!
