Positano, Italy

Positano, Italy was my favorite day of my trip to the Amalfi Coast.  I am normally not a huge “beach person”, but I had an absolutely wonderful day!  The beach was supposedly a black sand beach, but it was actually rocks instead of sand.  It hurt a little bit to walk on, but it was nice not to have sand stuck all over everything.  While swimming in the ocean, you overlooked all of the buildings built into the cliffs.  It was definitely the prettiest view I have ever seen while swimming!

One product I looked into buying before I left to study abroad was an underwater camera case.  This trip definitely made me regret not buying it, but luckily Melanie has a waterproof camera that she brought along.  I’m so glad she did because she was able to get some amazing photos while we were swimming!

After swimming and laying around, we took a short boat ride to go cliff jumping and cave swimming.  I planned on cliff jumping, but when I got up to the top I got scared and climbed down.  I guess moving to Italy is as brave as I can get –  I’m definitely not an adrenaline junkie!  I don’t regret my choice to not do, so that’s the important thing.  After we all jumped and swam around, we got back on the boat and went to a cave to swim.  It was such an awesome experience!

Hope you enjoyed reading a little bit about my day in Positano! I would 100% recommend visiting this place!  You can also read about the rest of my weekend, in Capri and Pompeii, if you are interested.  Ciao!

Thinking about you and hoping you are going to have a great Thanksgiving. I am glad you are not doubting your courage (no cliff diving) — you are so right that it took a lot just to leave the U.S. and study in Italy. So proud of you!

Thank you, Kay! Hope you had a great Thanksgiving! My room mates and neighbors all cooked a giant Thanksgiving meal together to celebrate. We even had a turkey!

      Hope you’re doing well.
