Cannes, France

Cannes, France was the third stop on my French Riviera trip. The water at the coastline was a bright blue color that was absolutely stunning.  It was different being in a place where the water was so close to the buildings of the city, which was similar in Nice as well.

There were rows of fancy yachts and boats lined up along the coast.  Cannes is a ritzy place, so if you’re visiting, you’ll definitely want to dress up more than you normally would.  I’m glad I was only there for a day, otherwise I would have run out of all my money. Haha!

Cannes is the home of the world’s most prestigious film festival in the world – Festival de Cannes.  Every summer, all of the top celebrities travel to Cannes for the festival.

The Carlton is the most prestigious hotel to stay at during the film festival, and is where lots of movie-making decisions are made.  The hotel is absolutely stunning on the inside, it’s easy to see why so many celebrities choose it as their place to stay.  My friends and I decided that we wanted to eat at the Carlton hotel for lunch.  We decided to eat off of their snack menu because it was a little bit cheaper.  I got a croque monsieur (a french ham and cheese sandwich) and a lemon tart.  When I said earlier that if I stayed in Cannes any longer, I would have run out of money…I was certainly not joking.  My lunch bill came to over $60!

After lunch, I was walking back to the bus by myself. I ended up getting lost and couldn’t find the bus anywhere – because it had already left! Eeek! It was terrifying and luckily I was able to get ahold of one of my friends that was on the bus and they drove and picked me up.
